Top Picks for the Bride

The more I look for accessories for my own wedding, the more I realize how much Kate Spade I can incorporate in the day, without really trying. I already knew I loved Kate Spade everything, but now I know for certain, it’s truly my favourite designer brand.

Moving on. I thought I would share my (biased) top picks for the bride to be.

An amazing pair of heels. I died when I saw these the first time, then died again when I realized my size was sold out. I settled for the cobalt blue version of these beauties. But if you can get your hands on a pair of the white with glitter heels – do it! The style is called Clarice and the most recent place I spotted them was Amazon.com and preownedweddingdress.com

A statement necklace. Although I know a big sparkly necklace isn’t for everything, if you have the right dress for it….!!!! This Kate Spade pave necklace is a little harder to find now, but if you are in Canada check out thebay.com

If you’re going to carry a purse, make sure it’s a sparkly one. Depending on your budget it could be the difference between a beautiful gold tone like this… _11055034

Or the way-out-of-my-budget kind such as this gorgeous ampersand purse._11030154

A really cute cosmetic bag, found at nordstrom.com_11058598

For later in the evening when you’re feet get tired from those gorgeous Clarice heels (not likely but go with it) you can change into a pair of these cute flip flops that come in both robin’s egg blue and white

A lot of people seem to be going with a photo on a canvas or photos in a book for the guestbook which are really great ideas. I just can’t get past this guest book and the little envelopes you can put your note cards in for the bride and groom to open. It comes with a table sign also. love it!

And a couple peripherals I found along the way!

The Pursuit of Perfect Table Decor

Pinterest has been taking over my life lately, and I truly have a love-hate relationship with it. I have already found my dress so the last thing I need to see is 25 other ones that I probably would have also wanted.

I find the same dilemna with table decor; thanks to Pinterest I have too many ideas of what my tables should look like. I thought I would share my favourite finds from this last week:

Spray painted pineapples. So clever! It instantly changes a confused Hawaii theme into a chic wedding. I think colour is key when it comes to painting anything, though.

Gorgeous candlesticks. Both elegant and classic, I love this look. The key is protecting the flame if that is a concern for your venue.

Wine boxes can be used to make such beautiful centrepieces, this one was executed perfectly. I even love the square votive candle holders.

Beautifully place candle holders and simple floral bouquets are always an option. It’s all about execution and the overall look of your table in my opinion! With in doubt, add more candles 🙂

Unique Tableware

The first thing I notice when perusing wedding photos online is the tableware. The right kind can really set the decor and the look of the room; it all flows seamlessly. Here are my favourite tableware choices from my own search for the perfect table setting:

We’ve seen the gold charger plate a thousand times, but what really caught my attention was a) the menu font and b) the gold napkin ring creating a “bow” like effect withe napkin.

Although not a piece of tableware per se, I love the detail of the chicken graphic on the place card to indicate to the server that the guest in that spot has chosen the chicken entree. I have been mulling over ways to not have to print CHICKEN or FISH or VEGETARIAN at the bottom of my own place cards, and if you can get away with a graphic instead I say go for it!

I know I’m completely biased when it comes to this next image. I love the blown glass charger plates they’ve chosen. And if they didn’t move my budget up into the range of ridiculous I would have chosen them myself. But the focus of this picture is the cutlery. Gold cutlery creates a look all its own and I think when done well is much more beautiful than silver.

Silver charger plates on a blush table cloth are gorgeous. The added touch of clear glasses blend this look together perfectly. A very Shabby Chic/Rustic wedding with the right amount of rustic added by the chairs. Sometimes its nice to see a rustic wedding sans burlap.

If you have the time and the patience, this idea is really awesome. The plates have been hand written with a sharpie or a paint pen. What really makes this look is the tablecloth that has been placed over a wooden table. Amazing detail and a really unique look. If you are attempting this for your own wedding – best of luck and I hope your guest list is under 200!
